In Ascend Together, two players select a color and then jump upward from platform to platform. A rising water level at the bottom forces constant upward movement. Each player has five lives; falling into the water or missing a platform costs one life. The match ends when one player loses all lives, and the survivor wins. The game uses a pixel art style that recalls classic arcade machines. Bright colors and simple shapes make platforms and characters easy to distinguish during fast play. During each climb, coins appear on platforms. Collecting these coins adds to a player's total, which can be used to unlock cosmetic hats.
